Find what makes your heart sing
I have always loved weddings, but my true passion and love for them started about 5 years ago when I myself got married along with some of my best friends and my little sister within the same year. It was our year of big weddings,2015!
I absolutely loved and adored the planning process and truly didn’t want it to end.
With my best friends and my little sister all getting married within months of one another is was such an exciting year with so many fun and exciting things coming up and it was wonderful to have been able to share all those experiences with them all.
In fact I loved the wedding dress part of it so much I tried on around 52 dresses! That was at the last count I made anyway!
I would never suggest trying this many on though as it just left me confused.
I finally found my bridal gown in a boutique after trying on so many of what I thought I liked then the one I fell in love with wasn’t what I was looking for at all! My best friend pulled it out and suggested I tried it on.
It was completely the opposite to what I thought I wanted, but giving that all the other dresses I tried on I immediately said no and took straight off but.... this one I was twirling around in and looking at myself in the mirror for ages and I didn’t want to take it off so I was pretty sure this was the one!
I didn’t buy my dress on this occasion, partly because I didn’t want the process to end but also it was so different to what I thought I wanted, I decided to wait and see what else I could find.
I’m so glad I waited to purchase my dress, I bought it from the lovely ladies at shades of white, they were holding a designer event where a designer from Justin Alexander came to the boutique, the designer pinned me in the dress to fit perfectly and that was when I knew it was THE ONE.
At the event I also had a beautiful hand drawn sketch by the designer of me wearing my dress which was such a lovely memento from the day.
Every time I work on a wedding I’m always reminded of my own wedding day and of the emotions and excitement it brings and I just love that feeling.
Working on my first wedding for myself these emotions all came flooding back,
I was driving up to the beautiful Old Hall in Ely and I was over come with emotion and excitement about playing a part in someone’s special day and to be chosen to do that meant so much to me.
As I left The Old Hall I knew right then this is what I wanted to do, all day every day.
Knowing that what I do makes someone so happy means everything to me.
